Why We Explain the Real Risks of Fake IDs
IDS FAKE is an independent education website. We explain, in plain language and with real sources, what happens to young people in the US and the UK when they buy, carry or use a fake ID.

We do not sell, make or recommend fake IDs, and we never explain how to get or use one. If you arrived here looking to buy, please read on first. This site exists to show you what that choice can really cost.
Why this site exists
Every year, thousands of teenagers search for "fake ID" or "scannable fake ID". Most of the results they see are sellers, and many of those sellers are scams.
None of them mention the criminal records, licence suspensions, college hearings or identity theft that can follow.
We built IDS FAKE to appear in those same search results with the other side of the story. Our goal is simple. Before anyone spends money on a fake ID, they should know the facts.
What we believe
- Teens deserve honest facts, not scare tactics.
- Every claim should be backed by a real source.
- Good information can prevent a bad decision.
- Anyone who made a mistake deserves a clear path to help.
Four areas, one clear message
Our guides focus on the consequences that sellers never talk about.
Legal consequences
US state laws and UK Acts, including fines, licence penalties and criminal charges.
Financial risks
Online scams, lost payments, and what happens to the personal data buyers hand over.
Long-term damage
How a record can affect university places, jobs, professional licences, travel and visas.
Support
Where teens and parents can find confidential, non-judgemental help.
Who we write for
Young people
Teens and young adults aged 15 to 20 in the US and the UK who want straight answers.
Parents
Families who want to understand the risks and talk about them calmly at home.
Educators
Teachers, college staff and youth workers who need reliable, sourced material.
An independent team
IDS FAKE is an independent publication. We are not funded by any seller, and we are not connected to any government agency or law firm.
Our team researches each topic carefully and writes for readers who want clear, honest answers.
How we check our facts
Legal information changes and the stakes are high, so we follow strict rules.
- We use primary sources: statutes, government sites, court records and peer-reviewed research.
- We date every article and review our main guides regularly.
- We correct mistakes openly and quickly.
What we are not
Not a law firm
Nothing on this site is legal advice. Laws differ by state and country, and every case depends on its facts. If you face a charge, please speak to a qualified solicitor or attorney.
Not a seller
We do not sell fake IDs, and we never accept payment from, or link to, any fake ID seller.
